loved him. Many great tunes from electric and acoustics. We are all getting old.

He was only 73. The older I get the younger that sounds. (nt), posted on February 20, 2017 at 15:09:22

Wow!

I didn't see this mentioned on my Yahoo home page. I know...who uses that sight anymore?
Plus, it's not a dumb millenial entertainer with tattoos.

According to one article, died in his sleep, natural causes in his hotel room. Naturally, until an autopsy is performed, will the actual cause of death be determined.

My guitar teacher in the mid 70's would cue up a record between playing, and Larry was among others he suggested I listen to.

73 is young. A reminder that health is EVERYTHING.

He signed my Fairyland LP and we had a great chat. What a loss. RIP Larry.

Playing a sealed copy of the Eleventh House I've had for some time, I think I got it at a thrift store. I forgot how much I like this album, brings back some foggy memories.

I saw him a couple of times here from up front in a small club. Remarkable. One of my favorite records is "Two for the Road - Coryell and Khan", from the late 70's. If you're a Coryell fan and see it, grab it.

"General Moto's Well-Laid Plan" is IMO one of Steve Swallow's finest compositions.

Happy listening,

I just heard about Larry. I was thinking about that same album the other day, wishing I had a copy, but last I had checked it was only available in vinyl (I don't have that gear anymore). But it looks like Two For the Road was released on CD in 2015! So I just ordered a copy.

I always wished I were able to play "General Moto's Well-Laid Plan" from that album (the tune was actually a mispelling or typo, the Bary Burton's original was actually named "General Mojo's Well-Laid Plan").

Jazz-rock. For people who appreciate neither real jazz nor real rock.
Nor real music, I opine ...

Anyway, he actually could play. He just chose to make money instead of
music it seems ...

Sad to hear! Loved a signature "chime" sound he frequently got from his guitar... My only album from him was lost and then found (European Impressions).

Glad it was recovered!
