they sell more than records. :)

CDs are certainly records; just flawed ones. nt, posted on December 3, 2016 at 16:02:15

Looks like you got some good stuff there. I assume since they are used and cd's don't sell like hotcakes you got them for a good price.

Is there a joke here somewhere? Or are those actually considered scores?

Yes, CDs are certainly flawed. They warp easily, scratch easily, suffer
from clicks/ticks/pops, must be cleaned (in a fairly expensive cleaning
machine) regularly, degrade in sound quality with every playing, in many
cases require you to walk softly in the room in which they are playing
lest their playing mechanism skip, cannot be played in an automobile ...
I could go on, but I won't.

Lack of skill dictates economy of style. - Joey Ramone

mine play quite nicely in the auto; right where they belong. nt, posted on December 4, 2016 at 14:51:54

G2- Outstanding!
I, too, am a Bill Evans freak. His catalog is phenomenal.
Start at the beginning w/ his 1st release.

Certainly G2-

I have enjoyed our banter and correspondence over the years.
Now, for some Bill Evans;
since you do not own many titles (yet), you can go straight for the boxed sets---Complete Riverside, Complete Verve---for openers.

If you want individual album/cd titles start with these;
Complete Sunday at the Village Vanguard (live 4-CD set).

Other wise, his 1st release- NEW JAZZ CONCEPTIONS
then---

Everybody Digs Bill Evans
On green dolphin Street
Kind of Blue- ---Miles Davis---
Portrait n Jazz
Explorations
Waltz for Debby
Undercurrent
Moonbeams
How my heart Sings
Interplay
Trio '64
Trio '65
Shelly's Manhole
A simple matter of Conviction
Bill Evans at Montreau Jazz Festival
Live at Art D'Lugoff Top of the Gate
Autumn Leaves
You're gonna hear from Me
Since we Met
You must believe in Spring
We will meet Again
Some other time- Lost recordings from Black Forest (2016)

this will get you started. Refer to wikipedia for comprehensive discography for Mr. Evans. He never made a bad record, IMO.

I am excited for you,
Happy Listening!

G2-

I see that you are in the DC area, hit up all of your used record/cd shops, even in the MD area as well. Keep me posted on your journey and awakening.

My pleasure- G2

as a Music lover, Jazz Head and Audiophile, I am always happy to assist.

The Bill Evans catalog is very comprehensive. Those 1950-1960's recordings are essestial in my book. The 70's was filled w/ live sets and can be more hit-and-miss.

His final boxed set- Turn out the Stars, is a must own!
Keep me posted on where you decide to jump into his wonderful music.

To add to fantja's list, give a listen to the first Tony Bennett / Bill Evans album.
