Gear just isn't made like this anymore.

Even through the IPad speaker, those tubes can be heard playing "realness." It looks like it belongs in Dr. Frankenstein's lab.

Impressive version of Bach's "Tocatta"
I couldn't figure out how to embed the video.

....disturbing. As a 25+ year tube-head, if I ever saw my tubes doing a light show like that, I'd probably die of a heart attack on my panicked race to the power switch. Old mindsets die hard... :)

those are mercury filled rectifiers from what I've read, that's normal reaction.

Also not safe to look at for long periods.

impressive, powerful, glorious, deep sound even through Audioengine A2.

More importantly though, what speakers was that sound coming out of in the video?

I'm also curious of the source? That setup was driving a decent whatever it is....file,CD?I doubt it's a record, but it sure sounds nice.

The owner does have nice taste. His other videos show the amp without those crazy rectifiers and a different setup with noisey fans.Still sounds amazing with the fans!

My guess , he has giant floorstanders/horn setup.

Pretty crazy if he's using high efficient horns with that amp.

But then pretty crazy in this hobby is standard.

an 800 year old building 130 meters long, 48 meters wide, and 35 meters high would make an MP3 player sound just as good.

Location, location, location.

Nothing beats a good vintage stadium PA system cranking "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor"

The "1812 Overture" or "Ride of the Valkyries" would be nice too.

The speaker connected is a 15inch Eminence 250 W in a two-way bass reflex assembly.

My google-fu is strong. Here is the story behind the amp.
