After all my procrastinating, I decided to buy. I ordered a Timbernation 48" wide 20" deep Hard Maple 4 shelve rack in light maple finish with the black satin posts. I also ordered a maple bass for my turntable.

It was a big hit but not compared to my equipment and I have been using home built or cheep stuff for over 40 years.

Anyway, should be about 2 to 3 weeks. I'll post pics and impressions after that.

Big hit maybe but there's about 100 board feet of maple at $5 a BF and at least 40 hours of finishing, machining, and assembly. A bargain in a hobby where many pay $1200 for $200 worth of parts and an hour of assembly.

Enjoy!

The floor quickly runs out of space in this hobby.

I think it is important for it to look good as well
and make it relatively easy to get to all the controls
and connections (the last item is not always easy, though).

"also ordered a maple bass for my turntable."

I've heard of deep bass, punchy bass, bass slam, lack of bass, too much bass, distorted bass, clean bass, bass violin, bass trombone, bass singers, bass traps, and bass fishing, but I've never heard of "maple bass". That's a new one.

:)

Nice.

I've always admired there work. It also seems reasonably, especially when compared to the Maplshade stuff.

I'm seriously considering the Timber Nation shelves.

I built mine out of old closet poles and butcher block.

Not as pricey as the maple stuff, but perhaps a bit more than poles and block. :)

The three point VTI racks offer great access and look pretty decent. I still use various isolation devices on the components themselves.

A Maple bass

Actually I caught that typo. Bass along with power chord instead of cord along with there, their and they're and to and too are common errors.

Congratulations

I love Timbernation racks and hope that it is everything your looking for.

sweet score.

Nicer looking than the Mapleshde racks, posted on February 8, 2016 at 17:56:16
and it appears,maybe a couple bucks less!$$$

I use the Mapleshade planks under the table/CD deck and speakers/sub.
If I were ready to shell out that kind of dough for racks, I would look into this TN.
A nice compliment to good sounding gear. Always thought a system should look good in addition to sounding great. The TN stuff looks more like nice furniture as it should at those prices. A nice flamed maple rack beats any aluminum/steel/glass high tech looking rack IMO. Enjoy

LOL!

And, you could add "than" vs "then" to your list.

But I'm not nit-picking grammar/spelling in general. That boat sailed long ago.

When a person is speaking about audio topics on an audio forum, you'd think that they'd at least know the difference between "bass" and "base". Am I expecting too much?

:)

Wood over metal. That's why I went with them over Blinn, I wanted it to look more like furniture.

Wow, who made that bass? It's beautiful.

Happy listening,

Yes than/then is the other that I couldn't recall. Shows up often here too. Cheers.

I don't know who made it, I just searched Google Images with the phrase "maple bass".
