My collection contains equal amounts of most music genres, from Jazz to Classical, to Rock, Noise, Electronic, etc.

If it sounds good to me I like it. Also now with the advent of streaming capabilities in my system the selections are endless.

I found J Davis Trio on Public Access TV in Manhattan, they have been around for a while. Their 4 albums are pretty good, and they have another one coming out soon. The style is unique, Jazz Hip Hop. Very interesting to me.

In 1984, Cherrelle was known for "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On." But 30 years ago, during the Winter '86 quarter, we began to hear her "Saturday Love." Personally, I loved hearing this, after my Saturday morning baseball practices. My family would often then drive from Golden Gate Park, out to Colma/Daly City. After the morning fog burned off, it was a treat, to hear "Saturday Love."

Nowadays, "Saturday Love" is a staple of R&B stations. Here in the Bay Area, 98.1 KISS-FM plays it regularly.

Enjoy,

Because Metallica are playing tonight at AT&T Park, S.F. radio station 107.7 The Bone was playing Metallica songs this morning. It actually played "Breadfan," which you never hear on the radio.

This song was originally by Budgie, in, I believe, 1973, which was when many of my friends were born. During the Fall '88 semester, Metallica did a cover, which appeared as a B-side on the "Harvester Of Sorrow" single. Metallica's version taught us a valuable lesson. It showed that thrash metal's roots included punk rock and the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (of which Budgie were a part).

My friends and I saw Metallica on December 10, 1988, at the Cow Palace. There, they performed parts of "Breadfan." It was in a key and tone closer to that of, say, Master Of Puppets, than their then-current ...And Justice For All.

Anyway, with its riffs, topic of money, and tempo changes, this song is killer. Play it.

two albums that changed my life, posted on February 6, 2016 at 11:40:18
I gather I was a Senior in High School at the time, I had always hanged out with a separate click from another High School that was more engineering focused and we shared common interest in the up and coming Intel microprocessors. As well as the Internet which didn't even have a web browser at that point that was useable, we had to use gopher.

One of the dudes in the click mentioned to me what was going on in Norway. It literally blew my mind. The going back to Pagan roots, and this was the Music!

Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas (1994) = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcS0CVJ1KPg

Burzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss (1994) = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiFeDwKKSCo

It was a revolution of thought and ideology that has changed my life since that point.
