it's widely accepted that copies one to four are in the possession of Beatles' members but it's also been assumed that No. 0000001 belongs to John Lennon. It's even a view echoed by Paul McCartney, who once said that Lennon "shouted loudest" for it. As it turns out though, Ringo has the copy.

considering Ringo famously walked out on the sessions for a time, forcing Paul to take over the drum part for some songs, including Back in the USSR. Ringo also commented that there were some "B sides" on the album, but egos were too big to allow any of them to be excluded.
I have the famous copy 2 million and something, long thought to be held by an accountant in Tacoma, Washington.

I have read that all four of the Beatles each got serial number 1 of the White Album.

laughing...

I love collecting and have often wondered who gets those 1st one-hundred or so copies? There are many, many layers of executives, lawyers, AR/PR types...etc.

IMHO, one of the most overrated albums of all time......Sorry, just an opinion. I just listened to it a couple of days ago and thought that.

I just listened last weekend to the 2014 MONO reissue of the White Album and was blown away. Forgot how good this album is.
