At least I sure hope it does as I'm heading off to Denver on an EARLY flight.

Anyone else planning to attend?

Is EVERYTHING a la carte with Frontier as I've read? I think this backfired and now they're 'bundling' upgrades sort of like your Cable TV company. ;-)

- You want a cushion with that seat? That'll be $40.

- You have a carry-on bag? That'll be $30 Web Checkin, $40 at kiosk, $60 at gate.

- You have a bag to check? That'll be $25 Web Checkin, $30 at kiosk, $60 at gate.

- You want a standard seat assignment? That'll be $4 at booking, $10 during online checkin, or $10 at the ticket counter.

- You want a Select Seating Upgrade? That'll be $15.

- You want Stretch Seating? That'll be $15 - $100 per segment, depending.

- You want a soft drink? That'll be $2

- You want a cheapie snack? That'll be $3

-

The fine print clearly tells us to eat a big meal and put on a disposable diaper before boarding the plane.

to pronounce F*CK right.

Spent hours with my Grandmother trying to teach her.

She never could get it right!

WTF?

Flew in via Southwest Airlines.Got the boarding pass upgrade. Worth it to me. It is a fairly long trip from the airport to the Denver Tech center.Instead of renting a car, taking a taxi or the Supper Shuttle-
cattle truck, I spent $65.00 and was meet at the airport by the Denver Limo service. They put the bags in the trunk and remove them. They have bottled water in the back of the Lincoln Town Car. The car is spotless and the soundsystem is turned to what you want. Their phone is 720-628-0592. I feel it is worth the money to have a stress free ride after enduring modern mass air travel.

Today Great rooms were Vaughn Loudspeakers-9007,Avantegarde Loudspeakers-578, Abyss headphones-8000, and Enigmacoustic Loudspeakers and their new headphones-441.

Lots more to see tomorrow.

Would be interested to know what listeners think of 47 Labs new offerings. Also the Soekris DAC/amp if you feel inclined?

And maybe the Avantgarde Zero 1 Pro...? :^)

New speakers (cones and domes) and a new amp(sand), at least that is what I could gather.

Good sounding room.

I take it, from that description, that there were no surprises then? Nice but not amazing?

(Thanks for reporting).

Nice! I've seen them but never used them. Price sounds reasonable to me.

The Hyatt 'Presidential Suite', not in the Marriott where the show was, and some of us missed it.

By the time we figured it out, they had closed it (Saturday Evening).

That said, talked to a reviewer who shall remain nameless here, and he said that the room didn't sound all that great and that we didn't miss much.

PLEASE RELAX EVERYONE!!!! I was speaking of the sound of the ROOM!!!!

Seems Magico has a large group of people who are very protective of them and will attack anyone who dares to criticize their sound.

I didn't see any comments from Magico owners/fans attacking you. In fact, I was the only member who even mentioned the Magico room & did so in a civil and friendly manner. What are you talking about??

You definitely didn't miss anything. The S7's sounded like...drum roll please...your run of the mill Magico. Lacking in air. Lacking emotion. Lacking soul. Not sure I'm a fan of sealed cabinets, I find they congest the sound.

Did anyone note the use of diffusers in that room? A great trick to broaden the soundstage. But I can't blame them, hotel rooms generally suck.

Don't see where that was directed at you unless you're 'everyone'.

And yes, Magico has a very loyal following, especially here in the Bay Area.

I didn't say I thought your comment was directed at me. I simply observed that I didn't see any comments which could have prompted such an angry response.

You guys say 'please' when your angry.

Fearful of those crazed Magico fan-boys maybe, but not angry. ;-)

Fair enough, but really I don't see any of that rubbish here. I count myself as a big fan, but not fan-boy..

Much deserved IMNSHO, at least their big rooms at CES every year.

Plus I lived in Utah at the time and Salt Lake City is pretty insulated from the outside world.

We used to have a guy working for us from a company that consulted for us who had worked as an employee of Wilson Audio.

The stories!

But they must remain untold. :-(

Steve, what do you expect from a Hotel room with limited setup time? Also, whilst the new Soulution amps are very good, I thought the choice of mixing the 701 mono's with a Vitus ML-102 pre was strange. I would have preferred an all-Vitus setup with SM-102 mono's and a Masterpiece series transport/dac to match with the Vitus ML-201 preamp. Vitus has more emotion and sounds more natural than Soulution imho. Also as another member mentioned, Magico didn't have an analogue source this year (if that's important to you).

Well, I can strongly confirm Magico loudspeakers aren't for me. My dealer has Q3's. I've heard S5 and S1 at shows and now S7. I found they sound ok, but I couldn't get into the music. They don't pull me in emotionally. I always find myself listening to the speakers and not the music. They don't allow me to get lost in the music. My heart is with BBC LS3/5A based speakers.

I have never heard Vitus that I remember. Aren't they quite expensive? I do like Boulder and Pass. I've been told they are just as good, maybe even better, for a lot less.

But when it comes down to it, I'm a tube guy at heart.

Alloy speakers have a different signature , not for everyone.....

RE: Majico had a room in the Hotel I was staying in...., posted on October 7, 2015 at 16:03:42
They're certainly less colored than many wood speakers. I was amazed how little resonance my S5's cabinet have at even high SPL's. But yes, I will agree that sealed box point source speakers are not for everyone, just as panels and horns are not for everyone.

That's fair enough, i'm not a fan of Wilson, PSB, B&W and many other speakers. Magico speakers are basically neutral, transparent to source & highly resolving. The S series is a bit more laid back in presentation than the Q series and sounds warmer. They are wonderfully coherent and well balanced speakers. Since they are 'honest', to get drawn into the music you need to pay careful attention to your choice of upstream equipment, cables, AC power & room acoustics. As i've often said, Vitus Signature series has great synergy with the S series & sounds warm and mellifluous..certainly more tube-like than Soulution. And yes, they're not cheap. Pass XS series is also an excellent choice for ss (though not cheap), whilst CJ Gat/Art & absolare are a great choice for tubes. I've found Jorma and Siltech have excellent synergy in cables. I also got nice improvements stepping up to the Stillpoints Ultra 6's & Furutech GTX-D(g). In other words, every part of the chain matters. The great thing about the Magico S series is they grow with every improvement to your system and room.
