formerly of infinity and finally Spectron, his company that produced class D amplifiers which he is credited with developing at infinity (SWAMP).

unfortunately, i don't have details, just the fact that he passed. he was a VERY nice, friendly fellow and didn't make you feel as if he were talking down to you.

he will be missed.

I had a borrowed Musician III in my large backline Bag End Bass rig for a short while. Gobs of power for realistic price unlike todays overpriced jewel cased switchers.

No personal experience with the man but a damn fine power house of an amplifier. Sad news.

I used to own a Spectron Musician II, and it was a really good amp. Balls-out powerful, but nicely refined as well. I regretted selling it, and almost bought a III a few years later, but didn't pull the trigger for some reason.

For the pioneer that he was, John was surprisingly humble. I remember some nice conversations with him. And also with Toni. She was incredibly cordial as well. I will miss the both of them.
This is a public service announcement . . . WITH GUITARS!!!

And spent a lot time on the phone with both John and Toni. They were both wonderful people who always took the time to make sure all was well. They will be missed...RIP....

I'm starting to look over my shoulder now. So many MP3s, so little time.
