I just listened to a jazz CD disc of Joey Alexander "My Favorite Things". Joey is a 12 year old pianist from Indonesia (Bali) and the CD is truly amazing. The sonic quality of this wonderful Motema recording is definitely "audiophile" level and what's truly amazing is how well Joey plays. The ensemble is Joey Alexander - piano, Larry Grenadier - bass, Ulysses Owens Jr.- drums with Russell Hall - bass, Sammy Miller - drums, and Alphonso Horne - trumpet

Hopefully, as he gets older, he'll bring more life experience to his playing to help him blossom into something even more extraordinary. Right now, he's just great!
