Some might recall that my Raysonic 228 died (no one wants to touch it). Stunning $4K jewelry

For the last ~ 4 years, I have been using my back up Pioneer Elite CD player (Musical Concepts mod + outboard PS, + I updated the dacs 5 years ago). About 8 months ago I purchased a Parasound P5 with built in 192k dac using my Pioneer as a transport connected via WireWorld Starlite 7 toslink

Speaker cables were pure silver double shotgun biwire from ClearDay Cables. Without the tubes, the silver was a bit hot. Nothing changed much when I replaced my Parasound P3 preamp with their P5,

I recently picked up a Oppo 103, primarily for SACD/DVD-A, but in the back of my mind to hopefully also replace the Pioneer. Immediately, there is quite a bit more resolution. Alas, all cds played through it were very bright, very little color, though the SACD/DVD-As sounded fuller, they sounded hard, cool, with little warmth

Knowing that rarely can you replace one 'thing', thinking what to change next, interconnects or speaker cables? My Swan Diva IIs are bi-wired/biamped, so I opted to replace the tweeter cables

David Salz (WireWorld) is an old friend. Speaking with him about a year ago told me that he made a major design breakthrough, which was then ~ 2 years old

I called and asked if he had a pair of speaker cables I could borrow. He recommended his top line, but entry level, Mini Eclipse 7 ($500/8ft. When I picked it up I asked about break-in, he said very little needed. Here's a review http://www.wireworldaudio.com/reviews/TA-Eclipse7.pdf

A new friend came over, who plays various instruments. He had never heard my system and wanted to hear Leonard Cohen, so I played a few cuts with the silver cables, then replaced them with The Mini Eclipse- OMG. I see/hear vivid tonal colors spreading deep into the mids as well, reminiscent of the Raysonic tube days

I ordered another pair to put on the bass. Send food

I recently replaced a set of Clear Day cables with wireworld equinox cables and had the same experience. Better tonal colors, presense and a more fleshed out sound overall. Really great cables for the money. I think I'm off silver cables for good. They are more resolving but less satisfying.

Clear Day is terrific with tube gear, where the tubes supply the warmth, like EL34s, which benefit from the speed and inner detail of Clear Day

It's just another case of a synergy shift as you change/upgrade components. A cable like ClearDay can breathe serious life into an overly warm or vintage based system. However, if you're feeling the need for more warmth/weight, best look for a larger gauge copper or blended cable. At least this has been my experience. With this all said, the ClearDay can still be the perfect fit/good value for many systems. All boils down to synergy.

Installed my second pair today. All I can say is WOW

I had been trying to sell my W4S MC 250/500 thinking it was perhaps too lean

Nope, simply that the Clear Day cables were mismatched in my all solid state system

They sounded great when I had the Raysonic tube cd player with variable balanced tube outs, and never too hot with the Pioneer but got edgier when I used the Pioneer as a transport and the built in dac in my Paraound P5 preamp

FYI, Paul (Clear Day Cables) uses Quicksilver monoblocks, and I think a tube preamp, where I am confident his cables sound glorious
