Doc Severinsen at the Hollywood Bowl !

Heads up, SoCal! Doc's only scheduled date this year is at the Hollywood Bowl on September 2nd. Be there or be square.

The guy is phenomenal. At 88, he's still in great shape and still playing. Doesn't have the endurance he used to have, but still puts on a great show!

Yes....I saw him in Phoenix, Az. He was with a few young guys and they played latin jazz. I bought the record (how hum), but the live performance was excellent.

I saw Doc when they did the tour following the end of the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Fantastic concert. This may be posted before, but Doc was one of many trumpet players at the Cancer Blows performance back in March 2015 in Dallas. The principal trumpet player of the Dallas Symphony had cancer. Michael Bishop formerly of Telarc recorded the concert and was also videotaped. I am looking forward to the high rez blue-ray coming out. Below is a link. I have been advised by Mr. Bishop to periodically check the cancer blows website for details on the release.
