Need help on what input/output to use.....

 I should know this but I wntto use my cassette deck to PLAY music not record. What goes from cassette deck to my pre amp, do I use the in or out on cassette deck to connect to my pre amp. Saying ing the interconnect goes from what from deck to my pre. Thanks for any info.

 Think of the music as something that flows like water. You would want the sound to come from the "output" of the tape deck to the "input" of the preamp. It then goes from the "output" of the preamp to the "input" of the amp.

 "Output" from the deck.

If you don't care about recording, you can go to any of several inputs on the preamp: Tape In, CD, Aux, Tuner. But NOT Phono.
