problem with erratic screen behavior on pronto tsu7500

All of a sudden the touch screen buttons some times will sort of work and some times not. I saw the youtube video on the tsu3000 about how to fix it but when I opened it up my tsu7500 was different looking inside. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to fix my problem?

So Nobody has had problems with there Pronto tsu 7500 remote?

The old school Pronto remotes are not as popular as in the past, so it will be more difficult to get a response. The TSU7500/7000 and TSU3500/3000 are different generation remotes (ProntoNG vs ProntoProNG) so there will be some internal differences. Try asking your question in the Philips Pronto discussion forum area of RemoteCentral.com.

You can always get your Pronto repaired by Service Wide Technologies for a flat fee of $275.00. I own a TSU7500, and a couple of TSU3500s. They replaced the processor in my TSU7500 several years ago after it started rebooting at random times,before the screen finally went blank. It has been working fine since then.

$275.00 as a flat fee especially if it's something simple is a bit crazy. I didn't pay any where near that for it.
I think I might be on the prowl for a new color touch screen remote. Any body have any suggestions?

Give Service Wide Tech a call first and ask about the flat fee. They may not charge the full fee for something simple. Its been a few years since I dealt with them, so I don't remember the details of the transaction.

To be honest, I would look around for a TSU3500 versus another TSU7500 or 7000. TSU3500s run in the $60 range for a clean unit, and is a lower investment for the same functions as you get with the color models. As I said, I own both the 7500 and 3500. My 3500 sees more use than the 7500, which serves more the role of a spare. Inspite of the 3500 being monochrome, I don't miss the 7500's color display. That novelty wore itself out a long time ago as I focus on function, not pretty colors.
