I hope they don't blow any plays.

Got no highs, got no lows.... must be Bose!

But hey, we're talking communications headsets here, not hifi.

Goodby Motorola. 13 years - except for 2014 - at an estimated cost of $40M/yr. The NFL reportedly turned down Motorola's increased offer of $50M for 2015.

Nike reportedly spends $220M/yr on the uni sponsorship.

Every NFL broadcast has a full time camera on the 2 head coaches. Those 2-3 second reaction shots of the coaches faces 10 or 15x per game are brilliant subliminal advertising. Average NFL viewership is 13-20M, divisional playoffs is 34M, and last years Superbowl was 111M.

The never-ending kneejerk antipathy of so-called "audiophiles" towards a successful US company has long passed its shelf life.

PS: Bose A20 aviation headsets go for $1100. They also snagged pro golfer Rory McIlroy's golf bag this year.

Agreed plus they have the best noise canceling technology to help eliminate the so called 12th man at least on the coaches end.

What's as troubling as it is puzzling is how so many seem to think Bose is any different (save for it's success) than the vast majority of audio equipment makers. As if the garbage they spew is somehow more credible than the Bose marketing rants. Geez....

as to which set they prefer, the old or new. I'd bet on the Bose. I bought some QC15s last week after my trusty old Koss set died and I have to say that the quiet from noise cancelling is really nice. I'll probably take them back and get the QC25s though. With these you don't hear anything without a battery in it for noise cancelling. The 25s at least work without the cancelling feature active should you get tired of replacing batteries. Never did I imagine I would own anything Bose but for listening while on the computer or late night tv I think they'll work great. I've gone into Bose stores twice in my life just to see what it was about and left both times just cringing so this really surprises me.

expertise in marketing.

Advertising in the sports arena has been successful for many a company.

...from marketing to seniors on the back of Parade Magazine to now targeting Baby Boomers and the younger set.

Smart.

Never owned a Bose product in my life until the car I just bought (04 Corvette Z06), and it sounds fine to me. My wife loves the sound, I mainly listen to the motor, with the stereo off... :)

I never owned a Blose products until my 2012 Infiniti G37. It is no worse than any other name brand car audio unit. Actually betters the ESL unit in my Wife's MDX.

If Bose wants to sponsor a league that won't throw away child abusers and wife/girlfriend beaters like the garbage they are, then good luck.

If there was no NFL there would be 1500 more prison inmates. If there was no PGA Tour there would be 300 more doctors, CEOs, and stock brokers.

I know which I would choose to sponsor.......

Hey Lee, just fyi, last year I bought the Shure 440 'phones, specifically for isolation, but also for reasonably good sound quality (I had thought I'd get the 640 or 840, but I actually liked the 440 better). You can get them at Full Compass for about $90. Also, be aware that several other companies besides Bose have noise-cancelling headphones. Audio-Technica for one, and I think Sennheiser. Not sure about Shure.

:)
