Would anyone be willing to share some ideas/photos for freestanding CD shelving or other types of storage? Eventually I'd like to finish my basement and perhaps have built-ins made for all my physical media. But that's probably years down the road and for now I'd like to come up with something less permanent/more flexible. I have about 5,000 CDs, with enough shelving for only half. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have always been intrigued by these. It is an expensive solution for a large cd collection like yours though.

I owned some of those in the past. The certainly reduce the footprint but are rather industrial. They are also problematic for discs that are sized different than the standard plastic jewel case.

Are Kalmar Designs teak CD holders. Hand made in Thailand. No longer in production but can be found regularly on FleaBay. I have about 20 of these things and they are the tits!

Ditto to the boltz post. I have many of their products. They all look sleek, are nearly indestructible and do what they are intended to do. Let me know fi you want them and I can dig up, or take, some pics to send.
