But I ran across this thing by accident and simply can't believe it.

It's called the Vinyl Killer and is a little plastic VW bus with a very cheap record needle poking out it's bottom. You place it on an innocent record and it drives around and around in scratchy lo-fi circles, cheerfully playing (and destroying) your best friend's record. (you sure wouldn't use one of yours)

Buy it here

See it destroy a rap record (which nobody will mind) here.

Who says high end is dead?!

It's all about the music...

Maybe with enough speed it could play records that have been made into bowls?

Cheers

I remember seeing one of those in the early 1980s. nt, posted on May 10, 2007 at 10:37:04

If it's a classic rock album I would imagine Satan would issue forth from it.

If it was a rap album it would probably sound the same.

As an early Diana Krall detractor I must say I find her recent work,, posted on May 10, 2007 at 13:50:03

at least the past few years, to have reached a very high level, voice as well as her playing.

Oddly my opinion of Harry Connick Jr. follows a roughly parallel trajectory, what I've been hearing recently (again over last few years) seems a high point in the continuance of the Big Band tradition.

I sometimes wonder were I to reexamine the early works of either if I'd find the fault rested in myself, perhaps a victim of a simplistic cliché... after all Krall didn't gain the attention of the likes of a Ray Brown only because she was a cute blond!

Oh, I like Norah Jones as well... shoot me!

Iam going to put polished rocks in some, posted on May 11, 2007 at 07:19:24
And resell them back to you guys as hi-end fully tweaked VW record players. I see where the performance of such a device could be improved upon so as to replace all moded Lenkos, Rekokuts, Lin TT Rockports etc. Sure your kids and cats would find this more enjoyable then standard LP playback.Taking orders only $995 ea. Buy 1 now and get another at 1/2 price.

I heard this eerie cryptic voice that repeated over and over:
