Looking for an original 10" driver for vintage Dynaco A25.

I realize Madison Sound has them ($150/ea) , but, they are quite expensive and not certain how this affects the overall sound of the pair. In otherwords, does it make sense to replace one or do they need to be replaced in pairs.

My thought would be to either keep checking ebay for one original or to replace both of them with the new woofers.

As an accomplished speaker builder even if you get an original from back in the day it won't be a perfect match because unless you can match up the numbers exactly it won't be a match for the original pair. In audio, things should be replaced in pairs for stereo but if a current version were purchased, even in pairs, the speaker isn't made with the same paper for the cone or foam for the surround which will ultimately affect the sound. How much will it affect the sound? Maybe not audible but who knows until it is tried.
