Hi there,
E-Bay link below is the DAC in question, if you decide to purchase confirm with seller that this unit has the Oscon capacitor mods done to the DAC board which is was what I received. This modification does not show up on his pictures for the current advertised item.

This is a great sounding budget DAC. All of my listening has been Redbook only, the DAC can't be faulted at this price. Previous to this unit I was listening to a NOS TDA1543 unit but the Lampucera ie DAC in question has more dynamics but just as smooth sounding. No ultrasonic noise to my ears as some posters have complained regarding DAC chipset - Cirrus Logic CS4397. Perhaps this is a PSU issue ? The only thing I changed out was the NE5532 Op amp with a adapted AD8599AR SOIC to DIP application, a modern equivalent audio op amp with DIP adaption. The NE5532 has a slightly compressed sound which is alleviated by the AD8599AR chipset. But really this is nit picking because the unit as supplied sounds great. Supplied with a 230V AC primary & secondaries are dual 12V AC, it looks to be approx 10VA per secondary winding. Lawrence the seller answered all my questions quickly & politely. I have no affiliation with Lawrence.

The Lampizator attached link below has a accurate review of this product. His valve Kathode follower cct - 6SN7 or something equivalent like a 6DJ8 would also work fine.

PS - Anyone else had experience with this kit ?

Cheers Johno
