On a lighter note regarding the last issue of TAS....

Enough has been said about RH’s essay in the current issue of TAS regarding reviews. Personally, I wouldn’t have published that particular piece. Too many of us involved in this forum devote far too much gray matter towards the perceived dark-side of the review process. We’d be better off spending more time with members of the opposite sex, attending concerts or just listening to the music.

What I found interesting was RH’s other essay. The gist of that piece was on expanding or promoting high-end audio. Why doesn’t anyone ever consult me on topics like this? Any manufacturer who wants to increase sales simply needs to add the words “South Beach” or “Atkins” or even “Low-Carb” after their model numbers. Manufacturers wishing to phase out a product line could just add the words “Krispy-Kreme” after their model numbers.

although nothing special is on tap. How the heck have you been doing?

I'm not doing anything, either. My favorite thing to do, actually. Not anything. I've been fine; just hovering mainly. Have you checked out 6moons yet?

What? They give the new guy all the weird/impossible stuff to review?

Very entertaining and amuzing reviews Bosh. I am correct in thinking this is a new venture for you right? Anyway, I'll look forward to reading more of 6moons now that you're a part of it.

In all honesty, I haven't; however,, posted on May 29, 2004 at 10:51:32

I love a good doughnut. I am deeply saddened by Krispy Kreme driving out my friendly local dougnut makers. Do you know what a hot apple fritter tastes like at 3AM? Better than sex! I would like to see Krispy Kreme make a fritter.

And no, I got myself into all that. I don't even really want to do reviews; just write industry features, do occasional factory tours etc. But with the whole Tweaks thing, well, I kind of fell backwards into it. And since the Show it looks like I'll be doing more reviews. Hardware this time. But I'll tell you, listening critically to some of the more "out there" stuff can really play with your head. Then again you know that if you've followed my decent into madness.
