A terrifying event, with a happy outcome. A friend gave me four albums to listen to, with the idea that I could buy any that I liked. We were talking, and looking at some other albums I had just purchased while standing next to the car,in front of his store. After our conversation I drove off--about a block down the road, I saw the albums come lifting off the hood and over the top into the roadway, egad....at an intersection. I stopped and waiting for the intersection to clear and retreived the albums. Ouch, all had been road kill. When I got home, I tried them all and, sorry to say a couple were ruined. However, and here's the good part: Crystal Clear Records Laurindo Almeida, Virtuoso Guitar 45 rpm on white vinyl wasn't damaged. On side two a contemporary Brazilian classical composer, Radames Gnattali's sonata For Guitar and Cello. Wow, it's the cello music I've always longed for. I have not found any other cello recordings that were so involving and uplifting in tone and detail. If anyone knows of any other cello works that are a cut above the crowd, I'd love recommendations.
