I'm always on the lookout for new pianistic talent but come back to established artists like Miksuto for the most enthralling experiences. This lady's playing of Schubert and Mozart never fails to send shivvers up my spine.
She chose a life of music so never married and had her own family but has a unique hobby - she collects pianos.
There are heaps of more information on the net but I've appended a link to one on Schubert.

I love her refined approach, especially her Mozart sonatas.

Very fine playing.

I seem to have misplaced a CD of her recordings of some Mozart sonatas. I really wanted to listen to them since I am working on the A minor sonata.

Enjoy the music.

Uchida played and conducted (from the keyboard) a number of Mozart concertos with the Cleveland Orchestra (Decca, recorded in concert). These are less doll-like performances than the series recorded with Tate--I've really enjoyed them.

Your use of the word "refined" is particularly apt as it neatly describes her artistry. I'm frequently surprised (and delighted) at just how nuanced her playing comes through on recordings.

Yes, I had most of her single Schubert discs then to make sure I had them all I got the box set when it came out. Love the Schubert sonatas maybe even better than Beethoven's. Beethoven's are too perfect. Schubert's are more off the wall which I like.
