But, in general when I have a choice, I opt for the blu-ray, just because of the higher sampling rate. Of course there are other variables which may enter into the equation too.

 

Sonically at least, definitely the Blu-ray (or the hi-res download), posted on November 18, 2020 at 02:08:29

The original DG tapes were recently remastered by Polyhymnia and released on Blu-ray and as hi-res downloads (192/24). They sound wonderful: warm, rich, smooth, open, transparent. DG even released 3 videos on the remastering process, well worth watching:
