Greetings!

Many years ago, I made a cassette tape from an old LP of "The Flying Dutchman". I thought it was one of the best Dutchman recordings I ever heard. Fritz Uhde sang the lead role. I'd like to get a CD of that performance as I seem to have lost one of the tapes, the one where I would have copied down the recording information.

Online, I find two CD recordings on offer with Uhde in the title role. They were both made in 1955. They have identical casts except for the tenor role (Eric). One is conducted by Keilberth on Testament SBT 21384, the other is by conducted by Knappertsbusch on Walhall WLCD0161. I think the one I remembered was the Keilberth version, but I cannot be sure.

Any recommendations and comments on preferences?

Many thanks!
