From Perotin to Prokofiev (and beyond), performed by Caruso to Khatia, it's all here.

I just put up a blog post that starts out with Ella Fitzgerald's "Always True to You" (Cole Porter), but to explain where that came from, I had to go back to the BC years and the Roman poet Horace. It's a long read, but also some of my best work ever, I think. The payoff at the end is a beautiful piano/cello/voice setting of Ernest Dowson's poem (which donated a line for the title of "Gone With the Wind"). I put the whole thing up as an MP3, and I think everyone who likes lieder or art song should take a listen. PLMK your reax. john |
