I'm curious why isn't there a selection for digital wires in the Cables/Interconnects area of AudioTrader? After all I'm looking for a good single digital wire, not a pair of ICs, Speaker wires or Power cords. Would you guys please just add a spot where we can post digital wires for sale or purchase? I believe it was probably just an oversight, so I thought I would call it to your attention. Thanks for your time....

There are a number of different types of interconnect cables, and rca interconnects and XLR interconnects don't have separate listings either. I'm sure most AA buyers and sellers don't mind sharing a common page to wade through at times...

Duster those are all just different types of Interconnects and as such belong in one category i.e., the Interconnects area! But when I'm looking for a digital wire, which just like the different types of ICs you mentioned in your post, they also come in numerous versions such as: S/PDIF, COAX, TOSLINK, AES/EBU, USB, Is2 to name the ones I can think of, I don't want to have to peruse through the 98 different ICs listed. I want to just see the digital wires listed, period. It wouldn't take much to add a separate spot for Digital Wire in the Cables/Interconnects category and I'm curious why they don't.

By your logic all amplifiers be they Solid State, Tube, Integrated Solid State, Integrated Tube or Receiver should be listed under just one category, amplifiers! But if you'll check you'll notice they don't do that! Why? Because someone looking for a tube amp doesn't care to see the solid-state amps listed for sale. So each amp listed above has a separate listing area you can post your amp for sale or purchase an amp.

It's the same thing with digital wires! People looking for a digital wire aren't interested in the ICs listed for sale. Why? Because they're not interconnects and as such should have a separate area you can list them and purchase just digital wires in. Doing that is just common sense....

Hi thetubeguy1954,

I'm not advocating anything, just mentioning the notion of a general category as it is. Perhaps AA will make changes in your desired direction. Maybe there is a reason for not doing such a thing, but that doesn't mean there's no room for change, so I hear you. I've simply grown used to the quirky methods of AA over the years...

Cheers, Duster

Duster you're 100% correct maybe they will and maybe they won't make such a change, but I'd like at least the courtesy of an answer to my question...

"Why isn't there a separate place for listing Digital wires" in the Cables/Interconnects category?

A separate category would be good. Time is a precious commodity so saving even a little is good.
