I purchased a teac x-1000r tape deck and I am wondering which rca type cables will be good for my hookup there are a lot of them out there all different prices. I am running McIntosh amp and preamp so I need a decent piece of wire but not to break the bank, any info will be appreciated. LEE!

The usual suspects would be Blue Jeans, Signal Cable and Mogami to name just a few of many possibilities. Those will keep you well under the hundred dollar mark. Endless possibilities in the $100-$200 range as well. e.g. Grover Huffman IC's are considered a good value IC at $200. From there, the sky's the limit. Depends on your wallet size..

I purchased a set of the ELF Silver Helix for $100/1M pr. These were to be used as a HT IC.Decided to break them in on the 2_ch rig and they haven't left. Sounding quite wonderful on the Mercury Dvorak Cello Concerto with Starker and equally good on the Wasserman Duets. Haven't heard some of the others, but these are worth an audition (they have 30 day return policy).
