That particular glass Toslink cable sounds pretty brittle and noise fatiguing, IME. The Lifatec Silflex glass Toslink is worth the extra expense, and most end-users tend to agree. Otherwise, you may be better off finding a good-sounding POF Toslink cable which will sound less harsh, IMO. YMMV

Medical glass Toslink are great. I am certain they are sold in the EU., posted on December 2, 2016 at 17:22:37
I bought a bunch of medical ones from a medical supply.

yep, but i'm already trying a very nice plastic Toslink cable (CSL - cable Toslink HQ Platinum) and am very impressed with the sound; that's why i thought: what about actual glass fibre?

all i'm able to find say something "medical grade japanese optical fibre", but nothing about GLASS, so i guess they use some exotic polimer...

UK, but I guess they are still in the EU

Note the discritive lines in small print: ""Medical grade glass fiber conductors, for lowest possible signal loss""

That's understandable, but like many things, you often get what you pay for. Compared to the price of other glass Toslink cables, the Lifatec Silflex glass Toslink is a bargain. If you seek an audiophile-quality glass Toslink cable with a performance-level that's considered equivalent to that of an audiophile-quality digital coaxial cable, the under $100 price of a Lifatec Silflex glass Toslink cable can be better appreciated.

i still find the Lifatec expensive, since there are already other manufacturers using medical grade glass fiber for Toslink cables; also, shipping cost to Europe is expensive too, let alone the customs duties, no less than 20% of the whole amount, including shipping cost! i'll probably try from EU
