 As far as speaker cables go, I love dark, rolled off, full sounding cables. I've had success with Cardas Quadlink Five series and also old Monster Powerline 2. I tried Transparent Audio Musicwave Plus and while I found the bass response to be wonderful and exaggerated (as I like it), the cable had a glare or glassiness to the mids and highs that I ultimately found unpleasant. I remember a long time ago I had a pair of MIT cables. I am not sure why I sold them, but what I remember is that the bass was huge...bloated...almost too much combined with smooth, creamy highs and mids. I do not remember the name of this product. So that's what I'm looking for. If you happen to know which of the MIT speaker cables, past or present, are known for being wooly, rich, rolled off, with huge, fat bass, please give me a recommendation. The cable that people complain is like a blanket over the speakers with overblown, boomy bass...that's the one I want. Thanks!

interesting query my friend. To my ears, Cardas fits your quest, if you cannot find those M.I.T. cables.

 Transparent Audio Labs originally made the first MIT cables.
I'm using a very old pair of first generation Transparent Audio Labs interconnect cable.
While they may not be the last word in detail, their overall smoothness and bass response is quite seductive.

 As an alternative,try the Nordost SPM or older Magnan cables.Older Wireworld cables might also fit the bill.

They have great bass, no question. Maybe the best. But they are also extended in the highs, depending on the model.

More neutral.

The lower end MITs (AVT2?) sound like what you're describing.
I've had those and the Shotgun s3's, which were too hot up top for my taste.

While not as extreme as what you described, I'm certain that you mean the original MIT Terminator 3 speaker cable with a beige colored jacket (see image above), not the more common gray colored jacket. Its sonic signature was very warm and euphonic; what some folks might describe as "musical" or tube-like. It was a very enjoyable cable if used to add some musical warmth to a solid state audio system, as I recall.

 With an NAD cd player feeding a NYAL Minuet preamp in front of an NAD 2200 amp, the Powerline 2 REALLY made my Dali 8 speakers come alive.

 The gray colored Terminator series is more neutral/less euphonic sounding than the early beige colored cables. The early Terminator cables were known for being what some might consider pleasant sounding rather than a more transparent sonic signature.
