they replaced my former Neutrik, gold plated pins, and immediately i got a much superior level of quality;
smoother sound, more clarity in the details department... you name it

these connectors are gold plated, with tellurium copper pins, metallic barrel, and cryogenized;
a delight to install, since they are solderless; only, you need a very small gauge Allen key

i ordered from audiophonics.fr (France); though i guess they could be ordered from the US;
where they are manufactured; a little expensive, but not so much as the Xadow or Acoustic
Revive similar ones

very highly recommended!!

 They surely look nice. I never been a fan of Neutrik. Of course the most expensive Neutrik is less than 1/4th the cost of the Ramms which are about 35 Euro w/o VAT

Here's a couple of XLR jack products based on the beefy Teflon insulator type Xhadow design. At some point in time, Xhadow mentioned they were going to produce XLR jacks that would likely have been similar to the EIZZ products, except for the fact that the EIZZ products don't feature the solder-free set-screw feature that Xhadow is known for.

The build quality and performance of an EIZZ EZ-201 rca connector I used for a digital cable build is excellent, and a bonafide audiophile quality connector, IME. It's not a cheap knock-off like many Chinese products often found on eBay tend to be. I find the EZ-201 to be on par with world-class rca connectors for a digital cable application.






The EIZZ EZ-108M and EZ-108F XLR jacks are available from the French seller you mentioned:

Hi and thanks for the very interesting information.
i have two question
1) is there the locking in the xlr ?
2) you say " I find the EZ-201 to be on par with world-class rca connectors for a digital cable application ". And for analog apps ?
However great parts indeed. I like the teflon.
But i have also some xlr to rca adpater that seem to have some kind of "ceramic" holding the pins ? they sound quite good.

Thanks for posting info about Ramm Audio. I checked their site and found set-screw type RCA male plugs also. Soon, I'm going to build an ic, and I like the set-screw RCA type.

 1. The EIZZ XLR jacks do not feature a locking mechanism.

2. I have not tried the EIZZ EZ-201 rca connector for an analog application, so I can't offer an opinion.

 I admit I have not heard them. I use Vampire XLR connectors (so does Audioquest), which are higher quality than Neutrik but still reasonably priced. They do require soldering, and it can be a bit trying the first few times. I've wrecked several but then gotten better. I suggest rookies buy a spare.

One feature of screw type connectors that concerns me is the thickness of the sleeve required to provide sufficient thread. That heavy mass of metal compared to thin gauge wire could cause sonic problems. And then is there really adequate thread to allow secure tightening? Isn't it difficult to tighten a screw against such fine gauge wire without damaging the threads or the wire?

I do believe your evaluation, but I wonder if they are worth the cost. They sure look pretty!
