I am making a power strip box (aluminum) and need some suggestions please.

1) I have three VH audio Oyaide R1 duplex receptacles that I installed in a box. What internal wire would you all suggest?

2) The box will have a IEC inlet.
What Furutech IEC would be a good choice for this project?

I prefer to buy wire and the like from VH audio. Chris is an honest great dealer for us DIY guys and a long time AA sponsor.

3) What if any vibration tweeks would I use inside or outside the box? The box will most likely rest on carpeting behind the gear. Or should I try an IKEA bamboo cutting board and footers or something like that?

When I put my "boxes" together,I used 12ga solid core.I treated the wires and contact points with Walker Extreme SST.And of course a high quality AC duplex. It sits behind the equipment,w/o any isolation, wood or footers.YMMV

Once you settle on wire hard wire it and have a male come out that can be plugged into AC as opposed to an IEC which then needs a power cord. Less is more especially with power.

I did that with one of my amplifiers. Removing that mechanical connection makes sense, especially if you are sure of the power cable you use. There are more than a few good bulk cable choices.

If possible, you can wire in some MOV devices which will turn it into a surge suppressor, too.
I dont' know of any sonic consequences of using MOVs in this fashion.
You will need to install in SETS OF 3. hot/neutral hot/ground and neutral/ground.
They are cheap, like commodity cheap, and multiples increase the protection level.
Too much is never enough
