Setting up the man-cave

My audio room/man-cave in currently “under construction,” as I am still figuring out the optimal design. The room is approx 20' x 20', I've got my Sonus faber floorstanders on each side of the system and approx. 6’ away from the back wall. My amp/preamp/source somewhere near the center... I’d appreciate anyone’s thoughts on this? I decided on using TARA Labs speaker cables, after my dealer let me audition a few different brands, but I'm not sure what length to order (since I don't know exactly where to place the speakers yet). I was a bit concerned just because I had also heard TARA Labs cables might be a bit stiff, but have been told that their new models are very flexible?

Depending on cost, for me anyways...I have 10' speaker cables, which gives the 20' of max width, (extreme), I have an amp stand between the speakers...I wanted to get my rack out from in-between the speakers, so a 6 meter pair of interconnects running to the amp...(pre-amp output figures into long interconnect runs), mine worked fine...

Then I moved to a different place...HAD to put the rack between the speakers...using a 5' pair of interconnects, (better and more expensive), Pre to Amp...still using the same 10' pair of speaker cables...I have not sold my 6 meter pair of interconnects...Just in case...they are currently being used from cable box to pre-amp wrapped up with zip ties due to length, to help keep up the cable jungle behind my rack somewhat tamed...

Welcome to the Asylum liamp...you are officially an inmate...great place to hang out...good luck...
thanks
Mark

Your thread title caught my attention.
Here's the clean up after recent floor upgrade among other stuff going on in this room. A REL sub sits in the rear behind the listening position.
Got the plasma on a roll-away for DVD night.

Unfortunately, it's not the permanent setup. Furniture and a "real world" layout is taking over since it's not a dedicated listening room.

With the tarp on the floor and strategic curtain placement, my humble rig sings.

Good luck with your room.
