I have been using the Mapleshade Clearview Plus USB, which was a good step up from AQ Coffee, much to my surprise. I've been totally happy with the smooth, non-digital, clear sound for the last year. I've had good results with the Black Cat Silverstar 75 digital coax in the past, and when a used Silverstar USB cable, a pretty new design from Chris S., showed up, I thought I'd give it a try. At $99/$150 new for 24"/1.5 M lengths, it is priced very well, about the same as the Mapleshade.
I'm very pleased. It maintains the smooth, clean openness of the Mapleshade, but has more top end energy and clarity and a more dynamic sound overall. A nice improvement in my system, and the cables is much more robustly constructed than the somewhat delicate Mapleshade.
So, certainly worth a try at its modest price. Based on my experience I just bought a pair of Neo-Morpheus ICs to try in my smaller systems.

Thanks for your review.

Any idea how to contact someone at StereoMatic?

Good question. I wouldn't mind getting one, but need a different usb connector. I am hooking an external hard drive directly to my Oppo 105. External drives have a 5 pin smaller usb connector. Either need a different cable or an adapter.
thanks

and I'm pleased. Much better balanced than my Zu Missions, and more open than my Acrotecs. Not as smooth as my Dave's Cables DDs, which are on the laid back side. Similar balance to Dave's D3, but not quite as refined, (D3s are more than 2x the price). Very dynamic and lively sound, dense images, upfront but not bright. I no longer have the similarly priced Grover Huffman ZXs for direct comparison, but overall I'd say they are about the same level, but with a slightly different "flavor"- the ZX images are not as dense and saturated, I think, but that might be a better match depending on the system qualities.
As always, matchups in cables are key, but the Neo-Morpheus are real contenders for the price.
