Interested in upgrading the power cables on my pre and power amps. Spoke with ARC, and was advised to not even bother wasting my money on a power cord unless I step my game up to over 600 bucks, as they already supply a high quality power cable, and buying anything cheaper will be a waste. Not sure what to think of this. Now, the cord supplied with my amp seems to be a pedestrian 20 amp/ 12 gauge power cord. The pre- a 15 amp 14 guage. They do sound good. Am I to assume that these are high quality OFC cables? Don't want yo waste my money. He would not give recommendations.

I have some furutech ends,( I would just need to by a 20 amp version for the power amp, but I'm not sure where to get a quality bulk cable. I tried the belden 12 guage, (red Jacket) but it's way to stiff. Maybe furutech bulk cable? Would it even be worth it? According to arc, probably not m

See if you can find a Nordost dealer in your area that will let you borrow a Heimdall 2 power cord. Having owned plenty of ARC gear over the years I can tell you first hand that an upgraded power cord like the Nordost higher end lines or other HE brands can pay big dividends in depth, dynamics and definition. Also, consider changing your ac outlet to a quality hospital grade unit, you're just not gonna believe it 'till you hear it.

What do you guys think about making a PC out of DH LABS power plus bulk cable, and terminating it with some nice oyaide ends? I can't understand why ARC feels their cheap chinese made cord can hang with a 600 dollar cord. I would suspect that any decent recipe would be an improvement ....

which cords did compare- TG vs Stage III?
