Switchcraft 3502a VS Furutech FP-126G??

It's time to try an upgrade from the Switchcraft. I am aware of the previous comments on the sound of the FP 126G. I'm wondering specifically if the Furutech will have deeper bass along with the full bass and increased musicality over the bullet... If not any other suggestions for a non silver rca that would better the switchcraft , have deeper bass and lean toward the warmish musical side of things. Thanks, Tweaker

Some Crystal Cables interconnect models feature Furutech FP-126(G) rca connectors, and an extended bottom end has been reported by reviewers. The full sounding bass I've reported via the Furutech FP-126(G) includes an extended bottom end, as well. IME, the low-mass Bullet Plug sounds leaner, with tighter bass than the Furutech FP-126(G) which is a different animal. YMMV

Thanks Duster, So that should be deeper than both the 3502 and the bullet, correct? Hey,the brainered wall plate is awesome. Everything has more weight to it. My kind of tweak! I'd hate to be forced to listen to the oyaide plate. I'm just a working man. It must really be something. Tweaker

I see these for like $66 a pair from Japan and some from Taiwan for near $15 a pair on ebay. Think these are the real deal?? Huge difference?? Who would counterfeit these? Thanks, Tweaker

The FP-126(G) does not go deeper than the Bullet Plug. The Bullet Plug sounds excellent for subwooofer applications since the bass characteristic is so tight sounding, IME. It's been along time since I experienced the 3502, so I can't offer an opinion.

I've seen the fake Furutech FP-126(G) on the web. Personally, I would not try it. The best price I've found for the genuine thing is US$23.49 per pair (US$46.98 for a set of four) from Take Five Audio.

Thanks for the reply. Why would anyone fake this plug?? The price difference does make me worry alittle. Tweaker

Duster, Crystal Cable says they do not use the Furutech, that it is a custom rca. How do you know the connectors from Taiwan are fake?? Tweaker

The barrel of the Crystal Cable rca connector is unique to Furutech. While the Crystal Cable rca connector is not exactly like the Furutech FP-126(G) such as the ground contact not extending past the barrel as much as the Furutech FP-126(G) does, I would be surprised if it is not a custom build by Furutech (perhaps Crystal Cable would not disclose such information). That said, I will no longer refer to Crystal Cable as a cable manufacturer that might implement the FP-126(G).

As for the fake FP-126(G), if you think you can purchase a set of genuine Furutech FP-126(G) with no Furutech brand marking for $15 a pair from China, then you can take the risk and decide if it's the real deal. A brass rca connector that "looks like" the Furutech FP-126(G) will not feature an OCC pure copper center pin and other high quality aspects of a Furutech design.

The one from china did have the Furutech brand on them/ Still could be fake but it's a lot of trouble for such a product. Tweaker

The key feature of the Furutech FP-126(G) is the OCC center pin. It sounds good.
