It took me several day, but it is done 9 (not counting gluing and finishing of chassis, currently taped)!!! My biggest error was being color blind. I accidentally used the 18k 1W resistors for terminal 12 to 15 and 25 to 15 instead of the 1k 1/2W, which happened to be blue. When called to use the 18k's, I realized I only had 2 and that I had goofed. Luckily the 18k resister prongs were long enough to be reused after having clipped them. Browsing these forums allowed to be get a successful build on my first try, only shocking myself once, shortly after having powered down the unit!!!! Many thanks to all the contributors posting. After I upgrade my cartridge and tone arm wiring and counter weight (Rega Planar 3, groove tracer subplatter, Rb300 w/ tungsten counterweight, r100 cartridge), I plan to build the upcoming stereoumour. Man, is this stuff addicting!!! But oh so fun!

Many thanks to Bottlehead and staff and all contributors. Thanks.

We are going to develop a 12 step program.

You start with a kit, then do some upgrades and or modifications. (Like changing your Seduction's output caps or bypassing the power supply caps.)

Then you get another kit, and then upgrades/mods.

Then a new (kit?) pair of speakers...

Well, you get the picture. I became a Bottlehead by buying a Seduction the day they were put on sale. And that has only fed the sickness.

Luckily the sickness doesn't really hurt anything. But you get great equipment for outrageously low prices.

Enjoy the journey!

Actually, after building the stereomour, I plan to try building a pair of speakers. Though I really like my Soliloquy 5.0 bookshelf speakers, their 88db sensitivity probably won't cut it. I also have the CS4 update, but I won't install that until some time later. I want to reap my rewards a little early.

Sounds like steps two and three.

Congrats! But, sorry for you wallet. Being a Bottlehead is addictive, even for us non-electrical professionals (I'm a psychologist myself; hence "Dr. Toobz"). Careful, or you'll soon find yourself with Bottlehead gear in every room of the house, and lots of compliments from visitors!

I am a nurse working in the mental health field, currently transferred from an inpatient hospital unit to an outpatient mental health clinic. It is nice to see others in this profession!!! Thankfully I have a previous degree in machining, so I am pretty good with designing and constructing.

I'm afraid that I already have two other expensive hobbies, that being rf photography and playing my classical guitar, so I doubt I'll have Bottlehead gear in every room any time soon, but...

I can't wait for that stereomour to come out!!!
