L2 phono stage vs L3 phono stage

Can you all please kindly advise me pros and cons of L2 12AX7/12AU7 phono stage vs L3 12AY7 phono stage?

 The L2 and L3 phono stages are similar in their design approach - the L3 phono stage is the same circuit as used in the AudioNote finished product M3 series of pre-amplifiers - The L3 Circuit Board is really for hardwiring as its truly the ultimate in tube phono stage - now the L2 phono stage was designed by Andy Grove for the L2 pre-amplifier - uses more readily available tubes (12ax7 6922) and is also a PCB for easy build - both tube stages sound great - the L3 is higher end but requires a little more sophisticated build approach!

 I cannot comment on the L3 phono stage but have built several L2 stages as well as use one of them in our showroom reference system. Like all the AN Kits, there are several stages of upgrades that can be performed as budget and desires allow.

The L2 is dead quite when done right even in an all tube system. I don't think you would be dissapointed with either.

 Many thanks, all for your comments. I've just received the L3 kit as well as L2 phono stage PCB. I'll start with the L3 first.

Finally, I've finished building the 6922 phono stage with the below schematics and what I can say is very enjoyable.

 Do you know, if C1 (upper picture or C3 in lower picture) value 0.047uF is only related to RC filter of 1M2 grid resistor (as a regular rule for couling cap and gird resistor between stages) or it plays role also in RIAA correction?
Changing 0.047uF to 0.1uF will only change the LF cut-off prequency in RC filter or it changes the RIAA curve?

 I did an experiment.
I have the same board in my finished Audio Note preamplifier.

Changing first soupling cap form 0.047 to 0.01uF gives a dramatic improvement in LF. Sound is nicely balanced. It it really o proper value (0.047uF)?
I don't undestand the differenc ein second stage grid resistor value difference. For upper it is 1M2 and for lower schematics 1M8.
rather samll difference between -3dB at 2.8Hz and 1.9Hz....
Why changing 0.047 to 0.1 uF brought such a difference? Maybe it plays role in RIAA correction and not only simple RC filter calculated above?
Anyone can help?

after around 15 changes to the parts and values, I have found this the best sounding setup.
small differences in cathode like 680R insteda of 820R and 1k instead of 1.2K are not important.
0.47uF output cap with 220k ground resisitor is a well proven setup wirling with 100k pot of preamplifier and much better than 1M resistor. LF is better controled.

Additional 22uF with 1k resisitor B+ filtration works well to privde the super clean B+ important for Cascode first stage. Rresistor choice is personal voicing
