Looks like I'm gonna receive a small Technics SE-C01 amplifier for Christmas.
It's the version with separate "pulse" power supply (smps).

I saw it on Ebay and fell in love with the looks; in my system it will drive the 15inch Klipsch K33E woofers (loaded by Peavey FH1 horns) while an heavily modded Trends TA10.1 takes care of the rest of the range.

I like to drive huge speakers with smallish amps so this little Technics jewel is just perfect; i have good hope that the 50W/channel will be more than adequate to drive the woofers (the present mini-amp i'm using, an smsl sA-50, at 25W is certainly loud enough but somehow fails to sound natural when asked to drive the hornloaded woofers).

Having owned a Sony TA-N86B I know that PulseModePowerSupplies (as Technics and Sony used to call them) are not as reliable as big iron.

So I wonder what the consensus is with these: I normally leave all my electronics (besides sources) ON all the time except if I leave the house for more than one day.

But switch mode PSUs are something different.
What tires them most? being left on, or being pushed ON and OFF few times per day?
