Looking for warm and full sounding pre to go with a digital amp. I have narrowed it down to these two preamps, thanks

Class D is not digital for what its worth.

Any reason you settled on these two preamps?

There are other balanced line tube preamps out there...

Not really any reason, I have read that bat is a warmer sounding pre and I also need balanced. I also like some of the cary preamps but they are a little out of my price range. What other pre that is balanced would you recommend?

Well I'm partial to Atma-Sphere of course, posted on November 22, 2016 at 15:03:49

So maybe that's a loaded question! The MP-1 was the first balanced line preamp made (1989).

If you're looking for an inexpensive balanced tube preamp, I was just looking at the Schiit website and they are apparently coming out with a new tube preamp called the Freya for $699.

it has a remote control!! CJ doesn't include one in their entry level preamp at 4x the price. What were they thinking?

I heard this preamp and it was really nice. Should work well with your amp.

Between these two the 5i is a better preamp, posted on November 29, 2016 at 11:58:32

That would be my preference... but we also had people who preferred the 3i. I would say the split is about 5:95.
