As a long term owner of several versions of Audible Illusions preamps, I'm glad to note (see review) that they've decided to put an on/off switch on the L3A (and I assume the M3A as well?). I think this is a good move and will help owners extend tube life. In spite of claims that they've seen tubes last 20 years, that certainly hasn't been my experience with my Audible preamps. And leaving the heaters fully powered 24/7/365 has never made much sense to me. I've thought seriously of adding an on/off power switch but have hesitated thinking it might devalue the unit. No longer. |
I plug my Mod 3 PS into a switched AC outlet. Serves the same purpose. /nt\, posted on February 11, 2016 at 18:07:49 | |
