 Have Audio Research sp 6b and want to upgrade. Read and article about power and coupling caps and how they made the soundstage wider, deeper, and more focused, and improved the frequency extremes. Would love to improve mine.
Is there anyone that can help me?
Any information would be appreciated.

 That's a classic model. Tinker with it and you may or may not like the result, but the preamp won't be worth half of what it was stock. And ARC may decline to service a modded unit in the future, they frown on third party modifications.

I wouldn't have anyone other than Audio Research or an authorized ARC dealer touch it. A SP6 that has never been serviced is due. Send it back to Audio Research for their update or refresh and you'll have a great sounding unit that retains it's value.

 Here is the first part of the rebuild I did on mine. It came out superb.

Sorry, I never wrote up the rest of the rebuild.
