Many thanks, appreciated! That helps me to configure a Kimber Bifocal speaker cable between the (new) amp and my Apogee Duetta speakers (which are currently getting restored). On the speaker side I will use banana plugs.

I do the same, spades on the amp end and bananas on the speaker end...I own Maggies, that only take bananas on the speaker end...(really cheap binding posts on ALL Maggies)...
Once you get your amp, if you would please, let us know how it handles the Duettes'...not the easiest speaker to drive, so IMHO the Pass is a great choice...
Your Kimbers' are beefy cables... thanks Mark

To the contrary, going oversize on spade lugs allows the lug to spread when tightened. Less contact under the screw. If your going to oversize use ring lugs. They do not spread and the added benefit of more surface area under the screw with a better gas tight connection.

...have new binding posts, which now accept bananas? If so, use bananas, which are more convenient than any spade.
My friends with Pass Labs amps complain that any speaker cable with spades is tough to route, especially with the amps' handles (similar to the Jeff Rowland, Mark Levinson, and Proceed amps I've reviewed) getting in the way.

I completely agree with your suggestion of using bananas but some old school audiophiles believe that you need to use an impact wrench to tighten down spades for best sound.
