Hi to all,

A reliable source told me ARC is planning to bring back the ARC SP 11 for a limited time only. Any fellow inmate/ ARC aficionado heard about this? My source was wondering why the SP 11 and not the SP10.

I can only afford "limited time offer donuts".

My favourite: Krispy Kreme Key Lime.

Forgive my ARC ignorance but why the SP11? Does it have Remote Control? Aren't there better ARC preamps in their current product lineup?

Is this mainly a play on nostalgia hoping to hook a few sentimental buyers at exorbitant prices?

Thanks.

And the SP17?

And the D100.2?

I too was wondering why the SP11 . Once in a while they're available in the used market. There's one right now ,available for sale at Audiogon for $3500. No news when ARC will restart to manufacture them.

Or am I just imgagining things?

Would be cool if ARC brings it back though. Would like to see the SP 10 too.

And bit difficult. With the nostalgia surrounding the SP3 series, it would seem more likely it would be the basis for a retro unit along with the Dual 50 or 75/76. Then partner with Magnum to add an ARC faceplate on one of their tuners. Saul did it with Fisher so, why not again.

Whatever happen to Elizabeth and the other ARC enthusiast Bambi it seems they're no longer posting.

Liz is already back with (perhaps) an even cooler Moniker. NT, posted on November 23, 2014 at 20:38:00

No, I don't always agree with some of her opinions, but she's tried out a LOT of equipment, and I think her thoughts are worth taking a look at.

Back in the day 1985 to 88 it was the preamp to be had it cost a whooping $6000 . Every reviewer had to have it. It was a marvel during that time.

The SP 6B is still the best pre-amp I've yet heard, though my current tubed pre might be better. But you can see that I am quite behind the times re ARC.

Still, were I to buy an ARC tubed pre do-over today, it would have the be the SP-3 in some incarnation because I need tone controls -- decades of variously recorded vinyl.
