I've been using a Behringer mixer (MX882) to bypass my receiver for some inputs for stereo listening as well as provide the level and impedance matching for my professional power amplifier that drive the left and right channels.

I'm setting up a different system in my workplace now and it looks like this monitor controller is just the ticket. Then I notice it has an RIAA Phono capable input! While it only has one computer input, I can use the other two inputs - one for bluetooth adapter and the the other for my house feed.

$150 not much of a risk. might be just the ticket to use to compare loudspeakers/monitors

Manuals not detailed enough. Does it have balanced outputs? Too bad no tone.

There you'll find it has balanced TRS (no XLR) connectors.

As for me, I'll definitely pass despite it's self proclaimed "high end" status. I've had Behringer products before. Harsh sounding cheap op amp circuits don't do much for me.

I'll spend a few more bucks and get a used tube unit or something from NAD that sounds more like live music. I spent $250 on a C160 preamp that was pretty decent. Its sins, by contrast, were of omission.

I have hit and missed At Behringer. The Mixers MX882 and RX1602 are outstanding - without even taking price into account. The tube mic preamps have sounded ok for a while but then degraded or broke. The loudspeakers are not good enough to consider - even for PA use - at least to my ears. My ultradrive pro DSP processor is fine for development work - but the DSP's on my power amps out perform it - measurements and sound.

Anything (which is most at Behringer) that uses $.22 NJM480s is a miss for me. Much better exists.

I'm thinking of pairing it with the LSR305's from JBL that just arrived last week - for a computer workstation I am moving upstairs. The mmg's in my sitting room will not work/fit anymore...

you can get a better preamp IMHO with multiple used options. Which I find to be superfluous when used with a computer workstation driving active speakers.

To each his own!
