I have seen some dealer demo sales of the 200 series class D integrated and wondered if this was in preparation for something new.
Thanks

With no disrespect to TheBrewmaster I welcome the effort some of the most respected designers are taking with switching amplifiers.

Just as solid state amplification may never attain the same basic presentation of tubes, switching amplification may never attain the basic presentations of the other two. What's important is that current switching amplifier designs offer some undeniable attributes, and like tube and solid state, the potential for future improvement.

Among other things I enjoy the freedom of low power consumption with being powered full time that my nCore switchers provide in my studio. At the same time I'm not denying myself of the presentation my tube mono's provide in my main system.

Options are a good thing.

ARC does preamps extremely well and their tube amps are among the best, but Class D sucks by any manufacturer!
