I just ran a search and there don't seem to have been any such lists lately.
Mine are:
Norah Freed - His Eye Is On The Sparrow (Trans World Radio EP)- until you hear it for yourself you have to trust me - it's indescribable.
Don Reeves Non-stop Double Hammond Organ (UK EMI)
Bobby and Betty Go To The Moon
Rigonda Stereo Test Record (It's not the poor translation from Russian to English, it's the poor sound and unbelievable smugness of the presenter)
The Condom Song (unlabelled UK 45)
I actually like the Liberace Christmas LP - he was a great entertainer - so it's not a worst record.
Follow Ups:
Loran Whitney (organist) and Ralph Platt (whistler), "Pipe Organ Melodies (with bird calls)"
A selection of hymns/light religious music played on the organ; about 1/2 of them accompanied by "bird calls" from the whistler. Selections include: "Jesus is all the world to me (with bird calls)". Apparently not all of the selections warrant the inclusion of the bird calls.
Michael Roden, "Born in a Whirl"(autographed!)
Various, "Dainuojame Su Rita" (Sing along in Lithuanian)
A collection of Lithuanian folk songs (in Lithuanian!) with libretto; includes the ever popular "Prageriau Zirgeli" (I Drank My Steed Away).
Kate Smith, "The Best of Kate Smith"
Gyorgy Lakatos and his Gipsy Band, "Gipsy Music From Olden Times"
rlindsa - new vinyl freakThere are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats. (Albert Schweitzer)
...featuring the Human Host and The Heavy Metal Kids.
1. Emerson, Lake, and Palmer - "Works" Three discs that are pretentious as hell and almost coma inducing in length and pacing. The only track worth listening to is "Tarkus."
2. Vanilla Ice - "Ice Ice Baby" all attitude, zero chops. A good record to use for target practice.
3. Engelbert Humperdinck - "Please Release Me" Yes, please! My wife bought this and it just about defines dreck.
4. Various Artists - Disco's Greatest Hits. Another spousal purchase. With the exception of a couple songs this whole collection does not make one nostalgic for the 70s. If I have to hear "I Love the Night Life" or "Get Up and Boogie" one more time................
"Goats Head Soup" is easily the worst album ever released by a major act. This is painful to listen to - the songs are listless and Mick, without good material, sinks into self-parody. Words cannot describe how much I hate this record. Only "Angie" and "Star, Star" are halfway listenable and even they wouldn't have found a home on any halfway decent Stones album. I bought this in 1973 when it had just hit the stores and I still don't know why.
i still like dancing with mr D.....great guitar riff....it just keeps going...it's the anchor to the whole piece,,,
Tom B.
I find the whole album tiresome. It sounds to me like something they did in a hurry because they had a contract obligation. I don't like it. I value your opinion but I disagree with it.
I do think Johnny Winter did a good version of "Silver Train" on his STILL ALIVE AND WELL album. I prefer it to the Stones version, which is something I don't say very often because I feel that the Stones are one of the all-time great groups and few can even come close to their greatness. That said, I find GOATS HEAD SOUP a total misfire and almost as bad as the abysmal MADE IN THE SHADE, which isn't on my list because I don't own it.
I don't think GOATS HEAD is one of the worst albums of all time but it's certainly the worst and most disappointing Stones album in my collection.
Even bad Stones is better than many groups can muster.
Ha Ha Ha! They're not in the collection, they're in the reject pile. Crap like Streisand, Mantovani, amounting to hundreds of insipid Pop LPs. It's the curse of buying collections...gotta take the bad with the good.
Chuck Wagon and the Wheels - Disco sucks
I bought that after I moved to Phoenix in the 70s and got an apartment while saving up for down payment money for a house. I found the couple next door played disco music loudly at all hours so I bought that Chuck Wagon record and aimed my speakers at their wall and played it continuously at full volume.
Dave
But it's so incredibly BAD, it's great.
Look at her grip that mic like Henry Rollins. Brilliant.
Grateful Dead: Terrapin Station (freebie)
Rolling Stones: Goats Head Soup (I actually bought it!)
Led Zeppelin II
Velvet Underground: Loaded (I'm a diehard VU fan, but this is just bad)
Lou Reed: New Sensations
I bought that album for one song - Sunrise. Not your typical Greatful Dead song. Other than that this is my least favorite LP of theirs..Dave
I got Station with a whole bunch of Dead albums, including Live Dead, Blues For..., Steal Your Face and Shakedown. I haven't really listened to any of them. I hate them all. I haven't ditched them because I got them from a friend.
I could easily have picked 5 Dead albums as my 5 worst albums. But that would have been boring.
And I have some other Stones album I hate, like Sticky Fingers (Wild Horses, please!). I was thinking of including the grossly overrated Exile On Main St. But then I wouldn't have been honest. And I have some really bad 1970s-80s Dylan albums.
All of these albums have one thing in common. I cannot se myself ever listen to them. Life's too short.
The Six Million Dollar Man versus Santa's Elves on a 7 inch single. They go on strike and The SMDM, wearing a norwegian fisherman's sweater, moves in and breaks it up. No kidding.
Purging recordings can be profitable too.
Just my experiences and opinions, yours may be different,
Teresa
Profit? I'm already so deep in the red with this hobby that I'm applying for a Federal bail-out.
I could sell LPs on Ebay 'till the day I die and still not balance accounts. Might as well let other people enjoy 'em cheap.

Just another old audio fool.
Carlene Carter, Two Sides To Every Woman . Neither side of Ms. Carter managed to come up with a decent song for this album.
Kostas, Xs In Moderation . Kostas has written or co-written some outstanding country tunes, so how bad could his solo album be? Plenty bad.
William Shatner, Transformed Man . Judging from the photo on the back of the sleeve Smug Wanker would have been a more suitable title.
Harry Chapin, Verities and Balderdash . Emphasis on the latter.
Nancy Sinatra, Boots . Every Lee Hazelwood tune is more than offset by the unfortunate Beatles, Stones, and Dylan covers apparently arranged by Nancy's old man.

Just another old audio fool.
Does this mean you have a copy of Transformed Man you're looking to get rid of? It's been on my want list for years.

-Ornette Coleman
Easily the worst is an RCA Dynagroove Bolero that exhibited everything that was wrong with Dynagoove. To control dynamics the level goes up like Bolero should but multiple times the level is reset significantly lower so it doesn't get too loud for shit equipment destroying the piece. It isn't Bolero if the level doesn't constantly increase from the start to the finish.
By chance, do you happen to have the catalog # of that Bolero LP on RCA you are referring to?
Thanks, man.
