Thanks anumber1 for the chart. I've had this turntable new since '87 but have put very little time on it. I have recently started playing a lot of vinyl again and I was curious as to what I had. Why did I ever believe what the 'powers that be' said about cd's?
Follow Ups:
It has been my experience with several Grado cartridges that the suspension just doesn't age well. 2 to 5 years tops before there is audible degradation of the sound.
Even if yours has very few actual hours of playtime on it, the suspension bushing of a Grado ages and hardens with exposure to the atmosphere and well, yours is approaching 20 years old.I put a new gold stylus on a Signature TLZ that I purchased new 10 years ago recently and it sounded as good as I ever remember it sounding.
I suppose I should try it on my MF1 sometime...
