Follow Ups:
It might be the one that you’re looking for. It has a 12” arm tube length and at 6” radius from the spindle. It has a manufacturer’s guaranteed satisfaction to the entire user.
Too much to collect dust and difficult to get at it. If I had the $$$ I would buy it just because it's different. Looks cool. I did recently see a DIY version made out of balsa wood.

Too much.
But that what the turntable dust cover for. However the dirt that you’re talking about is probably the fingerprints of which I totally agree with you.
Looks like something that could benefit from Shirasagi's knowledge of tweakdom.
Is that to mean from head to toe and all points in between?
This device can certainly add to the pleasure in getting there.
and there is a 9" version on a TT that looks like being £209 (?about $300?)http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo.cfm/Product_ID/1509
Looking interesting!
The $300 deck you posted uses a cheaper arm that definately isn't sold unless ordering as a repair part. Thanks for the link. Maybe I just missed the price when I looked at the page earlier today. Not a bad price for a 12" arm that should offer good performance. Seems worth it to try. What's to loose? Someone at eBay should be interested to try it if I sold it for a $50-$100 loss. Much less expensive than a new or even used 12" arm (SME 3012). Hmm...

Sorry, millen--we all know how you love Greek, but it's German.
Hey, Neal! Do I dare say a word about combining this subject with the "Untouched Cherry" upgrade to my Jello Mod???Nah, better keep quiet. This crowd's excited enough, already!
You can see that I've done my homework!Anyway, I think you're right; to inflame the crowd now might send some of them over the top, and that's the last thing we need right now!
I'm surprised that some humorless gatekeeper hasn't already bounced this discussion to another forum--I guess as long as we maintain some decorum and limit the discussion to matters audio, as we have, that we might be allowed to continue.
How IS the Untouched Cherry tweak to your Jello Mod holding up? Speaking of tweak, this respondent who goes by that name is one desperate dude, wouldn't you agree?

I really wanted to generate some discussion on the TONEARM!What I found out from Sumiko in CA was that they don't import the arm.
They gave me the number for a Project dealer here in Tampa just for kicks to see if they had any experence with getting Pro-Ject arms.
I knew the place (Audio Visions South) and they are a bunch of a-holes. Actually that should be A-holes with a capital A being that they're proper A-holes.
As expected, they were bullshit. The guy (Chris) took an hour to "investigate" the matter only to call Sumiko to find out what I already knew. I even told the guy that I had called Sumiko. Duh!
He then told me that the arm wasn't sold seperately. Doesn't look like the case at the Pro-Ject homepage. If it's not sold seperately, than with what deck is it included? He also said that the arm wouldn't be a good match for my Garrard 401. How could that be? Then he gave me some crap about having to wire-up some RCAs to make it work as if that's a big deal or unusual.
From my experence, Audio Visions South is the place to go if you're only looking to pay retail for big $$$ home theater. Loosers!
Well, if that's the case, you sure overestimated the capabilities of the REST of these respondents to hold an intelligent, mature discussion of the topic!

Yeah, but it's all in fun, and it sure draws out the sense of humor from these guys!
Give it to me bay-bee!
Man, you really do have it bad, and I doubt that such a puny instrument as that 12-inch Pro-ject could ever actually satisfy you. I think that perhaps one of the 16-inch transcription arms would suit you better, and I'm sure that you could find one on the 'Bay at a decent price. There are several models , made by different manufacturers, and appropriately stripped of all non-essentials such as wiring and headshell bolts (Well, maybe not THOSE), you could have some party!

Is your moniker descriptive or just boastful? What's your take on the 45 spindle-hole issue?
So I don’t put the record clamp anymore.

Hey, tweak, calm down! It's not what you think it is--the thing is meant for MUSICAL entertainment. There are plenty of other sites where you can choose from a variety of devices that will meet your needs.
Bearing lube, spikes and clips for my cartridge? I'll do anything for an ear-gasim.
Hmm...Tried Q-tips?
I thought that when it's properly set-up it’d give you a warm and fuzzy feeling.
Perhaps, but it would all depend on the finesse of the person who inserted it for you.
I agree… and also depending on the lubrication being use
Uhm, well, yeah--OK, whatever you say!
Buy the way, what are you wearing now?
Hey guys, I think that you might enjoy reading this! Seems appropriate to suggest it the way this discussion is headed!
Up til now, this was a wholesome discussion of the unexpected pleasures which can be derived by the OTHER respondents from their hobby.

Right now, I've got on my dog collar and my fuschia Speedos. Hot enough for ya?
Can I call you Kneel?
I thought that was your position all along.
Is another good position of course this depends on how high your turntable in relation to the floor. In my case I use a footstool set my butt in it and get really comfortable for the long process of installing the tonearm to the armboard.
Have you ever forgotten to remove the tonearm before "setting your butt" in the footstool?
But in any case you get the respite once you mounted the tonearm to the armboard though.
is going to lead to the discovery of the reason those 45s have such big holes.
Get me all excited when I see them while perusing for use vinyl at the flea market.
What, you guys think the holes in 45s are BIG?
