and you'll see my remark about ignorance was directed at webmasters and the business owners who support their proprietary coding, not at you. Perhaps you read the subject line and thought you were being attacked.

'Saying it's the user's problem isn't acceptable, in my book, it's programmer laziness and, dare I say, pigheaded'
Just took it wrong i guess (because i agree with the programmer laziness bit).
But now i have to continue packing, there is a greek island waiting for me. So, for me, 3 weeks without vinyl, i just take cd's with me.
I think the beer an beach part will be a little comfort...

I still say it's pigheaded. There's a big difference between doing the minimum to get the job done correctly (which in my book, means making it work with all browsers in common use, which certainly includes Netscape) and just being lazy, which means not caring about the other 13% or so (from my site statistics) who don't use IE. A good example of the latter is the aca.gr site, as Metralla pointed out in this thread. It's a shame, as the content is good - but if you make it difficult or impossible for people to visit your site, they won't. Most often it's innocent ignorance, other times it's just an arrogant attitude saying "You don't use MSIE? What's the matter with you?" Ahem, there's nothing the matter with me. I avoid MS software as a matter of choice, having been screwed out of money, time, and productivity by that company which refuses to fix the very poor stuff they make.
