Hi Ed,
As I often say: Just the fact that it is possible to do something does not make it worth doing.
With that said, a while back I saw a steam powered record player on U-tube. Now admittedly that is the ultimate in silliness, but it almost inspired me to build my own. Hey, I wanted one of those little steam engines when I was a kid but never got it.
Good sense did prevail.

Well Ed,
You are in good company. I believe Albert Einstein said something like that.

This is a wooden equivalent of the vinyl eating bus. Problem is what it DOES to records not how it makes them sound.
When I look at all the Crosley stuff, its the same deal...looks great...is cool...and portable, but destroys your records... begs the question if there is a market for the same designs but made to a quality standard that would be acceptable enough NOT to destroy the LPs. I'm not suggesting that these would replace real tts ...just a treat for portable use or traveling..
