Passed away at age 69. First Keith and now Greg. Never forget ELP's 1977 tour with an orchestra. Just listened to Tarkus, Brain Salad Surgery, In The Court of the Crimson King and Greg Lake.
Had a Hinterland Stovepipe & Central Waters Cassian Sunset...
Follow Ups:
Never was The Sage more poignant to me. One of the best singers ever in rock. He was on the first Moody Blues cruise, I attended an amazing Q&A he did with the audience on the pool deck and he was warm, gracious and a wonderful storyteller. His Songs of a Lifetime show on the cruise was wonderful, with all of the classic King Crimson and ELP tunes.
Spinning Tarkus. It's a tough one for me to accept for some reason.
A terrible, terrible loss.
Although I'd been a fan of King Crimson & ELP virtually from their beginnings, I confess I never knew that Greg & Robert Fripp shared the same guitar tutor in their youth.
I always lamented Greg leaving King Crimson but if he hadn't we wouldn't have enjoyed his massive musical legacy with ELP.
RIP Greg Lake.
RIP Greg... I'm 57...It's getting depressing to realize you're in the "kill"zone, especially this year...really feeling this today.
